Dr. Beardsley's work in Micronesia is being funded by a grant from the U.S. National Park Service administered through the National Historic Preservation Office, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. Additional support has been provided by ESRI, a leading U.S.-based GIS software manufacturer who has kindly donated a copy of its ArcView mapping software to the Micronesian government for the purposes of mapping key cultural areas across the FSM. Surveying equipment has been provided by Aaron Smith, President, Surveyors Supply Company of Apex, North Carolina, a leading supplier for surveyors, civil and structural engineers, architects, and mechanical engineers throughout the world. Mr. E. R. Beardsley has donated a computer system and software to the National Historic Preservation Office, Pohnpei, FSM, for the purpose of map production and database compilation.
